The other day, I left my regular grocery store feeling frustrated because they didn't have half of the things on my list in stock. To add to the frustration, they didn't carry wheatlets whatsoever and I was in dire need of them because of a visitor that is staying with me. On my way home from work I decided to go out on a whim and see if Kay's Market had what I was looking for. Not ONLY did they carry wheatlets, but they had them at some of the cheapest prices I've seen in town! In addition to this, they have just about everything you could want! Everything from produce and cheese, to baking goods and marshmallows!
Kay's Market is an extremely extensive grocery store and it's right off the C-Train line downtown Calgary!
The service was great, the prices were fantastic and the selection was exceptional.
I'm one happy customer. -

Great little store in the middle of City. I was able too get food from here instead of spending money on over price restaurant in this town!!!

This place looks big from the outside. Inside is ok. It looks like an old school grocery market with a combination look of a dollar store and convenience store. I mean its great to come here to pick up something quick. Only thing I find is that prices are not cheap. I would rather go to Safeway and pick up something from there instead. There are a few things on sale like corn on the cob etc but seems like all their sale items are sold out. Guess they don't restock very often.
I think the reason why Kay's Food Market is here is to serve the people living in the condo upstairs and within a block walking distance. -

Everything in this store is expired. All the time. Sometimes they have good deals but it's on old, expired product. A little over priced as well. Basically a large convenience store.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!
Close to home, friendly staff, great selection and super prices!
They are part of Safeway's "family run" group of companies, frequently found in smaller towns and cities that aren't big enough for a full on Safeway experience.
Having just moved to the area on May 1, I was lacking some of the essentials for a meal, so I headed to Kay's to grab bread, milk, cheese and a few tins of soup, and happened upon their 10 for $10 sale. Cha-CHING! Knorr Sidekicks, Kraft Dinner, and Swanson Meat pies, all 10 for $10.
Quick service with a smile at the till, and always a friendly greeting when you come in to the store!!
They have me as a customer for life!!
